Attributive adjective

An adjective used in this fashion describes an attribute of the noun it is related to. Attributive adjectives are found either between the definite article and the noun "the good man" or appear after the noun with their own definite article "the man the good."

Predicate adjective

An adjective used in this fashion describes something about a noun, but not necessarily an attribute of the noun. Thus while an attributive adjective many describe the good man, an predicative adjective may only the man is good at some particular time. Predicative adjectives are found before the definite article "good the man" or after the noun "the man good". Unlike the Attributive adjective they are not preceded by a definite article.

Substantive adjective

A substantive adjective is were an adjective is used as if it were a noun, as in the statement "the righteous will see eternal life." While righteous is an adjective, here it is functioning as a noun.
